I've been watching Bob Harper since he started on The Biggest Loser, and his book is just like he is on TV--positive and upbeat. It's all about fixing what is wrong with you emotionally before attempting to fix what's wrong with your diet. He is all about empowerment and shares personal stories to help solidify the need to balance your Inner Compass.

The nutrition advice is really helpful, and it never seems like he's telling you what to do. Instead, he shares with you and reinforces the fact that you shouldn't give up if you mess up once or twice. He stresses effort, and discipline that comes with personal growth.

This is definitely a book for beginners. This book, coupled with his Biggest Loser workout DVD, will have you well on the right track toward living a better, more healthful life.

I don't know about you, but I start off every year with a fresh batch of diet books and exercise DVDs. And every year by the end of the first week I still haven't tried a single recipe. And the exercise DVDs have been watched and deemed too tough for any human to get through.

This year I wanted to find something that would help me lose weight and keep it off for good. They say if you want to grow as a person get in a new relationship. Every piece of baggage from previous romances shows up.

Well the same thing happens when you decide to change your eating habits. Every piece of your dieting emotional, mental and physical past rears its ugly head and preys on you via your inner fat critic.

Where the majority of diet books ignore the "diet baggage" we all carry, Bob gets you to deal with it BEFORE you jump into a healthy eating and exercise plan. He has trained enough people in his life to know that even the most dedicated dieters at some point will back off when their inner fat critic starts to stalk them.

I enjoy reading this type of book. Bob Harper's reading style is easy to follow and enjoyable. In all honesty it is not exactly anything new in terms of many of the books in this genre but if you are looking for motivation, or have not gotten off the couch in a long time I would recommend this book. The food plan is not out of the question and is sensible as well as easy to shop for. The exercises are one thing that concerns me. A few of them could easily result in injury if not done properly.

This Bob Harper book is excellent. Superb mix of easy to read instructions and positive motivating stories and suggestions. We keep this one on the dressing table for easy reference. I've read quite a few books from the Biggest Loser coaches, but this one was the best yet!

great exercises I can do . I increase the wrights. I can't do his beginners video, but I can do these exercises. he is very motivational.
He has a good spirit he parlays into people. Very encouraging.

I love watching the Biggest Loser and I love Bob Harper. He always seems to be really connected with the people he's training on the show, so I was not suprised when I read the book and felt like he was right here talking to me personaly. He breaks down the things you need to be doing so they make since to you but at the same time he's not condescending. If your a fan of Bob you'll love this book.

I'm 61 and so the exercises in the book would be difficult for me to do.
Easy to follow. bob has taken the guess work out of a quick start plan and made it a no-brainer, especially for someone like me with a very busy schedule. He promotes foods that are healthy, has taken nutrition into consideration, rids your body of processed toxins and does so with a wonderful reality and sense of humor. Thanks Bob!
