A collaboration between the design team at Hagstrom the Swedish band Ghost, Fantomen (Swedish for The Phantom ) transports Hagstrom’s legendary playability and technical excellence into a new, edgier realm. We started with an elegantly asymmetrical solid-mahogany body to which we have joined a mahogany neck using our classic mortise-and-tenon neck joint system.

He puts his first year of college and girlfriend Ruth on hold. Can Ruth find solace elsewhere? Pecos does have a twin brother, Gila.Sharing lives, beds, and bodies and collaborating on songs, Pecos and Jack find themselves popular on the podunk circuit. Unexpectedly a single song catapults them to the heights of the politically-oriented rock music scene, and they become heroes of the anti-Vietnam war movement as well as rock stars.Pecos, influenced by zealous Students for a Democratic Society, begins thinking like them, spouting their rhetoric. Jack begins to feel he's just along for the ride, a hypnotic with guitar. The relationship is floundering on a more personal level as well, each knowing an inevitable split is coming, neither guessing how final and traumatic it will be.

I ordered "Ghost Guitars" from Amazon.com and saw on back cover-Fiction-Gay & Lesbian. While I'm neither, I read it anyway and am so glad I did because this is a provocative book for straights too. It was SO interesting I didn't want to put it down. My thoughts along as I read, "This guy is brilliant." How he can wrap words around words paints a marvelous canvas and tells a terrific story. Couldn't help wondering if the book might be part autobiographical. I entered a new dimension by reading. Hope booksales go out of the ceiling.

"Ghost Guitars" is a wise and witty, funny and moving look at the lives of a couple of 1960s rock writer/performers who almost by accident find themselves the darlings of the anti-war movement. Emerging from a background in country and western, Jack Linden and Pecos Farley hit the big time when their song "Hell No, I Won't Go" becomes an anthem of the left. They take the revolutionary rock scene as well as the Hollywood scene by storm. In their various ways, they love each other, although not exclusively and not always at the same time.
But it's not just about our superstars. It's about their families as well and about the changing times, attitudes, and moods of the second half of the twentieth century. The story of the Farley and Linden families begins in the latter days of WW2, and the epilogue brings matters up to the war in Iraq. It is fascinating to view the 1960s and early 1970s in this larger historical context.
"Ghost Guitars" is filled with well-defined characters of many political persuasions and sexual orientations. Scenes jump with life, and descriptions of places and events are exceedingly well done. The song lyrics excerpted make one long for the album! What a movie this would make!
