Madame Bonbon’s sweet shop was on the island’s main street, tucked in between a restaurant on one side and a florist’s on the other. It had a sign above the door with a picture of a crescent moon against a starry night sky. The moon had a face and was smiling. Sitting on his chin was a girl with fair hair, eating from a big box of sweets.

The Mme Pamplemousse books are my 2nd grade daughter's favorite. They are also very entertaining for us to read with her. There are some words she needs help with but the story really holds her interest and she finished it as fast as she could.

My third grade daughter finished this in one day. She enjoyed it (said it was very interesting and exciting) and can't wait to read the other books in the series.

This is a wonderful series. It follows a little girl named Madeleine and her adventures. Madeleine meets Madame BonBon and her sweet shop. These are very short reads but they are amazingly creative and imaginative. I just love all the potions, sugary sweets, meats and cheeses. Here we rejoin the plucky Madeleine and her friends Madame Pamplemousse and her trusty and capable cat, Camembert on their third adventure. This time, an ancient adversary of Mme Pamplemousse uses Madeleine as a pawn in a bid to get the use of her friend's Time-Travelling Espresso machine. This adversary, a Madame Bonbon is a very dangerous witch, whose two weapons are yummy bonbons and mean girls at Madeleine's school. Charmingly illustrated, this writer has a very affectionate appreciation for Paris. This installment of the series has Madeleine in very serious danger from enemies without and within. Fortunately, she can depend on her stalwart friends Camembert and Madame Pamplemousse for help and support.
A very disturbing book...my daughter and I could not make it all the way through and a year later I am still living with the memory of creepy Madame Pamplemouse. Def not one for us
