by Jan Olsen (Author). It does not encourage slanted writing. But it does show how to easily connect the letters, which is what cursive means.

This book was a last ditch effort to teach him better handwriting skills. He has definitely improved since doing these lessons.

Ships from and sold by bookzeller1. My son has just moved on to the next book (Cursive Handwriting) and he is so excited and doing really well - great transition. 24 people found this helpful. This book was a last ditch effort to teach him better handwriting skills. I would have liked it if the book had more pages with paragraph format, as some of the pages were so simple and monotonous.

This book is in good condition. It has some light wear on the cover. Thanks This is a Teachers Guide for both the Cursive Handwriting and the Cursive Success books. There is curling and wrinkling on many of the inside pages. It looks like the book may of got a little bit of moisture on it at some time but over all good. There some pink staining at the bottom of the first few pages. I did not see any writing on the inside. This book is in good condition.

Critics are upset that cursive writing classes are being kicked out of more schools. Teacher: "Handwritten documents convey important cultural information". Another critic fears adults in the years to come will write like children. Love this method of teaching cursive writing and was glad to see it listed at a good price.

After struggling to teach the D'Nealian style of handwriting, I have found this book to be much easier for children to understand. It does not encourage slanted writing. But it does show how to easily connect the letters, which is what cursive means. Somewhat simplified, but that is probably okay. I like the workbook format. It teaches how to do handwriting with space to practice. I would use this in homeschooling and also as an enrichment tool at home for after-schoolers.

Very helpful in teaching grand-children cursive.

I do love these books. They are inexpensive, clear and can be 100% student-led. The style is not as pretty as some, but I have found that once my kids get the basics down they tend to embelish and make it their own anyway.

My 11 year old is finishing up with this book and it has taught her well. She understands what to do, and its not just a matter of practice.

We bought this when our 6 year old showed an interest in cursive. She enjoys flipping through and finding a letter to practice.
I like the order in which the author presents the letters as well as the fact that she specifically mentions that each person will develop their own style.

My kids are learning without getting upset with me or their teachers. This is a great program. I highly recommend it for everyone. Great positive reinforcement.
My two oldest children, ages 13 and 14 always remember these lessons with a smile! "up,up,up like a helicopter!" How many children fondly remember learning cursive? This method really makes it fun, and it's fun to teach also.
