This book, printed in 1957, was in very good condition considering the age. The story is very dated - "and they lived happily ever after". I wanted to share the book with family, but due to the age of the book, a child will rip the pages as they are now very fragile. I was very happy to finally find this book on Amazon.

Bought this book to replace one we lost. I love this story, because it shows four kittens with different personalities, deciding to go different places and do different things with their lives, and how they ALL "lived happily ever after." It shows children that we aren't all alike and it's OK to like different things and do different things.

This book along with the other two books I purchased are a very good quality so I pleased with it, yes. Unfortunately, it isn't the story I was looking for and I can't for the life of me find anyone that can recall the title of the book I'm in need of finding after I've described the story basis.

This was the book I remembered best of all the Little Golden Books I had read to me as a child, and which I read to my own children. Even after all these years I could remember and retell the story almost word for word. The one thing I couldn't remember was the name, but my daughter googled it from my description and found it in minutes. The illustrations are beautiful, comical, and fit the story-line perfectly. (Many books I've seen in recent years, I've wondered if the illustrator had even read the story!)

Not only is the story, clever and sweet, but a very comforting one for shy or unsure children. If you've never read this book, you owe it to yourself (and your children or grandchildren) to read it. It's simply charming.

Yes..somewhat used BUT growing up in the 50's I loved golden books and especially kittens. This is just a personal 5 star!
