I had this book as a little girl and it's as good as I remembered. Essential for any parent of girls looking for matter of fact, non forced challenges to gender stereotypes. Mrs Plug is a plumber, and Mr Plug is her mate and looks after the babies. But that's not the point of the story, it's just how it is. The story itself is about a robber, and a journey round the world. It fits so much into a short book, and the drawings are fab (I remembered them 25 odd years later!). A real classic.

This is an awesome book that empowers females while giving credit to dads that have a more on hands approach to child rearing.
Don't get me wrong this is a kids book with funny parts and a working together sense. Also shows kids tools or different scenarios that a plumber might encounter with a twist of some far out fiction which makes it funny for the adults reading this too.

Loved this book when I was young and am sharing it with our families next generation of kids.

The illustrations are beautiful with lots of detail for curious readers. My parents read this to me as a child, and now my daughter loves it too.

We had it when our daughter was little to show her that girls can be whatever they want to be when they grow up. We bought it for our great-nephew because it is funny.
