Gorgeous book. Laugh out loud funny, too. Mostly artwork. Could be a good word recognition exercise for reading-ready kids, if someone reads it to them. I actually wanted to cut out the pictures and frame them, but the book is just too beautiful to spoil.

This was a long lost book that called to be returned to my alphabet book collection. Its vocabulary is wonderful to use to expand the vocabulary of fifth graders in my classroom

I actually found this book at a small "thrift" store in Tehachapi, California. My adult, autistic sister was drawn to it -- "Mew Mew!" "Mew Mew!" she chimed. I purchased it for $1.59. She LOVES looking at each and every picture. She has NEVER been so interested in a book! It is her "car" book -- we leave it in our auto, as she will remain comfortable and quiet for long trips as well as just about town, when she has her "Mew Mew" book! It's delightfully illustrated.

I love these books and the types of cats portrayed by the artist. Unique display of cats and the colors are very outstanding.

Every child should have this book, in an oversized version. Brilliant pictures, wonderful alliterative text.

I was given this book many years ago, but have discovered it anew since we started reading it to our toddler son. The story is really too complicated for him, but he is entranced by the beautiful cats. Their eyes, in particular, are mesmerising. We revel in the clever rhymes (how often does "verisimultide" appear in verse I wonder?) and can imagine this book becoming a family favourite. What a pity that it's out of print!
This book was a gift from my sister. My husband tried to read it to our granddaughters and could make no sense of it. And so I picked it up and made up a story to go along with the pictures. My granddaughters loved my story. Now Sofie is old enough to read and can't believe that the story her grandmother read her for years is actually this book. The story--well, there is actually no story--makes no sense. It is simply pictures and long words.

But because my granddaughters loved it when I read it to them (my made-up story) I gave the book three stars.
