This is an absolutely beautifully illustrated book about Colonial Williamsburg – a place that is in my heart and soul. I wish the illustrator would sell prints of the buildings she has drawn! I would frame them! I love the nod the illustrator gave to the classic alphabet characters used in the colonial period!

The book is very much a list of colonial items that match corresponding letter… Which can get a little bit boring as you're reading it – but it does have a encyclopedia of sorts at the back of the book to explain some of the more obscure/ historical things mentioned throughout. Very lovely purchase. We will cherish this.

I purchased this book for my son for Christmas, and could not be more thrilled with it! Not only is it delightfully illustrated, but it has all the charm of Colonial Williamsburg for the younger set -- including a glossary at the back, for terms that children (or parents!) might not be familiar with. The book is also very well made! I've loved Colonial Williamsburg ever since I was a small child, and am thrilled to be able to share my love with my own children now -- and if they learn their letters at the same time, well, who can complain about that?

Highly recommended!

Goes perfectly with my Williamsburg alphabet doll and the price is terrific.
