We have three of the Winnie-the-Pooh first reader series, Pooh's Honey Tree, Pooh Gets Stuck, and this title. My 20 month old daughter loves all of them, but I was disappointed by the illustrations in this book.

We have three of the Winnie-the-Pooh first reader series, Pooh's Honey Tree, Pooh Gets Stuck, and this title. The story is great, about what makes a best friend and how it is important to BE a good friend, too. I just wish the illustrations, which are soft colors and sort of wishy-washy were closer to the familiar bright Disney-style images in the other books we have. 2 people found this helpful.

Winnie-the-Pooh definitely does that. There were a few times where I would laugh and they would ask me to explain what was funny.

It can be a little confusing at first, but I think the kids liked it because it involves them if you pretend like they are Christopher Robin. The writing is so animated and a lot of fun to read out loud to my kids. Winnie-the-Pooh definitely does that. Maybe it’s just an example of how much the world has changed, but I found the chapter where they kidnap Baby Roo mildly alarming.
