We love Joyce Wan. These simple board books are the best. They are short and sweet and have great art for little ones. We use these books when our daughter wants "one more story". Nowadays he's too mobile to be bothered with sitting still long enough to be read even two pages of this, but on his own will page through it. So I love that it comes in board book format, because otherwise it would be in shreds. We also have the companion book, You Are My Cupcake, which is equally as darling.

Joyce Wan is the illustrator of the Peep and Egg books, and the author and illustrator of The Whale in My Swimming Pool and many popular board books including You Are My Cupcake and We Belong Together. Joyce lives in Ridgewood, New Jersey, with her husband and daughter.

My now-9-month old loves this book for story time. In fact, she loved it so much, I got the other one by the same author, "You Are My Cupcake", and they are in heavy rotation in her book box. She's learned the cover art, so she'll actually search for them! The illustrations are cute and colorful, the words are large and add to the illustration. Would highly recommend for anyone with a baby.

Update, Septemeber 2012: My now 16-month-old still reaches for this one from time to time. She knows now to point at each item when I read out what they are ("fork and spoon", etc). She'll also turn the pages, and seem a little irritated if I skip a page (I've memorized this book). Too funny!

Purchased this for fathers day for my husband from our Twin daughters. he LOVED it!! The last page says "you're my perfect pair" and this is SO ADORABLE, especially for twin parents. You will love this book!

My loved one on valentine's day. I'm a babysitter and the kid had it and as I was reading it to him I was like, this is so darn cute!! I HAD TO get it for my hubby. Super cute, if you don't know the books you can YouTube them or look for them at Barnes and Noble to get a feel for her books. They're for babies, but the they also make sense for a lover haha.

My son is particularly fond of Joyce Wan's more recent works ("You are my Cupcake" is his favorite, followed closely by this book, "Hug You, Kiss You, Love You," and "My Lucky Little Dragon"), as these are the books he immediately takes from his shelf and reads over and over again. I'm quite a fan myself, as I think the illustrations are absolutely adorable, and the books are a great length for babies-- not too much text paired with big colorful pictures is a big win, especially for small babies.

I'm hoping she keeps producing, because we will definitely keep buying.

Love all books by this author. Starting reading these to my daughter when she was a baby. They have almost a lyrical sense as if they could be songs. My 3.5 year old loves them even still and knows them by heart. Adorable illustrations too.

One of my favorite recently written board books. Even bought one for a gift later. Simple story just saying how one loves another like pairs of items. It was one of my sons favorites for me to read him. The illustrations are the cutest things ever!
