Spontaneous, natural, and humorous. This was a wonderful book and Lowry is a great writer. It was a simple, uncomplicated plot with a clear message which was not in the least preachy and the characters were also straight-forward and easily believed. especially was the picture of any number of boys of that age I have known, with his propensity for the quick white lie and immediate face-saving stretch of the truth.
