Baby hits developmental milestones and his parents go gaga. First smiles, laughs and steps send them running to boast that they have the best baby ever. Their unbridled excitement, unabashed bragging and silly doting will resonate with new parents, but not with young readers. The use of a Dick-and-Jane narrative style, so brilliantly employed in Milgrim's Adventures of Otto series of early readers, here fails to succeed, creating a e tone at odds with child-centric collegiality. The bright cartoon illustrations of goofy parents will elicit some chuckles, but won't keep little ones from squirming to reach for a book that's truly for and about them.

We loved reading this while pregnant with baby #3. My four year old especially liked the baby talk parts. Wonderful baby talk page! The kids both enjoyed having mommy make baby talk! It is bittersweet to think about how old they get so quickly, but that whole angle is lost on the child listener/reader who gets to just enjoy the great illustrations and story. Fun for the whole group!

Cute book, makes a great gift. All about how parents think everything their child does makes them the best baby ever (even as the "baby" grows up.

We read this book at our local library, loved it sooo much and decided to gift it for an upcoming birthday party. We also want one for ourselves. It is a cute book about baby milestones ... and how each one makes him the best baby ever.

Love, love, love this book! It is so much fun to read. I enjoy it even more then my daughter does. My favorite part:
"See baby go to school. See baby wave bye-bye. See mommy and Daddy cry like two babies."
