In 1942, the launch of Little Golden Books revolutionized children’s book publishing by making high-quality picture . And they each got a "Frosty the Snowman" ornament. And I read them the story I found as to how Frosty came about, about the crazy professor.

More than 60 years later, many of the original Golden Book titles are still wildly popular, with The Poky Little Puppy topping the list of ten bestselling children’s books of all time. It made for a fun Christmas Day. Thank you for selling this book, so badly needed.

Frosty the Snowman is a Little Golden Book based on the song of the same name. It's winter and some kids (named Billy, Sally, Tommy, and Joe) are playing outside in the snow. They build a snowman and dress him up. Now they need a hat, so the kids start looking for one. Then an old silk hat flies to them, the perfect hat for a snowman. When Tommy puts the hat on the snowman's head, the snowman, name of Frosty the Snowman, suddenly comes to life.

Frosty The Snowman book. Frosty the Snowman Little golden book. I don't really like books based off of tv shows or movies that have illustrations identical to the show, it's like watching the show all over again. A better choice would be to get a different version of Frosty the Snowman, even one of the older ones from Little Golden Book with different illustrations is a better option. Having to watch Frosty and then read this story which is almost word for word a copy of the television special is just silly.

My 3-year-old daughter is a big Frosty fan, and she very much enjoyed this little book. It is short enough to read for bedtime and it has recognizable drawings. My daughter asked me why the lyrics of the song were not included at all in the words so it may be good for other potential buyers to know that this is not a "sing-a-long" book; rather, it tells the story of how the snowman came to be, how the magician tries to catch the snowman, etc.

The only problem I had with the book was the red bound edging. I had six books I had purchased several years ago to give to my seven grandchildren, missing one book I could not find. Those six books had gold edging. So, to solve the problem, I gave the grandchild who got the red edged book $5.00. They thought it was great, the contest I mean. And they each got a "Frosty the Snowman" ornament. And I read them the story I found as to how Frosty came about, about the crazy professor. It made for a fun Christmas Day. Thank you for selling this book, so badly needed. By the way, my grandchildren range in age from 8 to 20. But they loved it!

A classic tale in a classic binding. Nothing fancy about this book, but it's a great story to have on hand, and this version makes it really affordable.

We bought this book because I was not familiar with the story. My husband grew up with the book and wanted our kids to know the story too.
Its about a child who goes on an adventure with the talking snowman. My kids actually really liked the book, and related to what the story line was and showed empathy with the boy!
