This is my all-time favorite baby book. Both of my sons showed interest in this book long before any other book, I think because of the delightful and expressive photos of babies' faces. My husband and I sing the text to our sons. The text does run onto the next page sometimes, but I use that to add suspense, such as Peek-a...BOO! I have read this book several of hundreds of times and still enjoy it each time.
Whitesmasher
Charming book with lots of bright cheerful photos of babies! Babies are drawn to baby face photos! Charming story.
Shezokha
Both my babies have LOVED this book and want it to be read over and over -- even once they themselves were no longer babies! A true favorite in our house.
Andromakus
This was on the 10 ten books. I don't know how it got on the list. It was hardly worth purchasing.
Agalen
A big favorite for my three boys during baby and toddlerhood. Charming- lots of affectionate play depicted. Some of the other reviews are laughable- clothing didn’t quite match? Haha- does it ever?? Text goes to next page? It’s peekaboo! It’s a surprise for goodness sakes! That was the best part of the book! It was ya an error. Get Dick and Jane if you want short and boring.

Ooooh baby, is this a fun book. Five beautiful children are photographed by Penny Gentieu as they interact with their parents. The focus of each photo is the joy-filled face of a child. The children are shown eating, splashing, playing and most importantly, looking into their parents' eyes. The background of each photo is pure color, orange, green, yellow, blue and purple which matches the clothing of the baby and parent. Gentieu's photos glow.

Hey, baby!

Look at you, looking at me,

looking at you, looking at me.

This would be a terrific baby gift or a nice present for big brothers and sisters-to-be. Who doesn't love looking at pictures of precious children? Just imagine holding this book in your lap with a little one tucked in beside you. Children (and babies) love looking at faces.

Oh Baby, look at me reading with you, look at you reading with me!

A wonderful picturebook for pretoddlers, filled with cheery pictures of parents and little babies interacting -- smiling, waving, taking baths, playing peekaboo -- with plenty of love and affection oozing from each frame. Generally speaking, I'm not a big fan of photographic picturebooks, but this is an exception to the rule. Penny Gentieu, a well-known commercial photographer, has a nice touch, and the interactive, contextual aspect of the pictures, with babies in the middle of their first (and most intense) social relationships, should draw the littlest readers in... The text is pretty basic, but if you're in the newborn/infant headspace, it'll be absolutely perfect. Nice one!
Yep, it's her favorite one. The photos inside are delightful, not just to her eyes but to ours as well. Simple photos of parents and children sharing the joys of everyday play amid beautiful, vibrant single-color backgrounds. I know she loves the expressions on the babies' faces, as do we. It's a simple book, a quick read but a delight through and through. This one is going in the keepsake box.
