A perfectly modern way to share ageless Native American trickster stories. The SHOW approach works with the retelling of the stories. The Native American oral tradition relied on the creativity of the teller and the imaginations of the audience. This book recreates both by helping readers, bedtime story tellers, teachers share the experience both orally and graphically. We read the words but can see the playfulness of the trickster tales and the widsom they contain helping the modern child whose creativity has been stifled by the American school system explore the rich mythology of tribal America.

I purchased this graphic story book for my son after having checked it out at the library. He was fascinated with the Native American stories. He is on the younger side, only six, but I think he will grow into this book as his reading improves and his understanding of the stories (fables) becomes more nuanced. It's a beautiful book.

I really love this book. The stories remind me of when I was a child and my grandfather told us the stories his Native Mother had shared with him as a child. The graphic pictures make it interesting for all types of book readers, comic book fans as well as those of us who just enjoy a good story. I was really happy with this purchase, and so were my children.
