There just aren't enough good books out there for Meerkat lovers! My little girl loves them and we have all the Discovery movies on them and get any book on them we can find. This one is very cute and she likes it and can read a lot of it on her own. Highly recommend!

Both my three year-old and six year-old love this book. For my older son, it's very motivating in helping him learn to read - each animal is a mystery and both kids stay engaged wanting to find out which animal it is. The writing is great and just the right level and the illustrations are nice. A fun, positive and engaging books for my kids!

This is the most informative book about animals that I've ever read to a child.

The audience is taken through a safari that includes giraffes, elephants, monkeys, lions, flamingos, and more.

Poems describe very interesting facts about each animal.

For instance, about monkeys:
"Monkeys are noisy and playful and fun.
They like to eat fruit and snooze in the sun.
Monkeys can swing from tree to tree.
They use their long tails for balance, you see."

Beautifully written and illustrated!

This is a great children's book! I strongly recommend it. My four year old daughter loves this book. Initially, she loved guessing the animals and laughing at the wonderful pictures. It was more than a book; it was almost a game and very educational one. Now that we have read it over and over, she has it almost memorized so she pretends to read it back to us. It is definitely one of her favorites. We have also noticed it's very popular with her friends and cousins who are around the same age (3 to 6). We recently visited a cousin who liked the book so much she hid it so she could keep it with her when we left. So we are on our second copy! We are keeping our eye out for more children's books from Claudia Graziano.

they will love this book! i just gave a copy to my 3 year old god-daughter and she could not be separated from this book all night. she loved going through the story and identifying all the animals on the safari. I found the illustrations to be really beautifully painted and very engaging to both myself and my god-daughter. not to mention that Meerkat is a charming and excellent guide on this special safari, as he possesses great local knowledge. overall highly recommended, and contributed to a wonderful evening of reading and bonding with my god-daughter.

My one-year-old daughter loves this book. As I read the clues and answers, it's easy for her to follow my voice. And the beat of the language makes it a nice singsong read.

As we turn the pages we're rewarded with colorful pictures of creatures with big faces and smiling mouths. This is one of my daughter's (and my) favorite bedtime reads.

When she gets older, the fun facts about each animal will give us another round of pleasure from this enjoyable little book.
We got this in paperback for my older son a year ago, and the book immediately received a lot of love. For a true animal head, it's tough to get much better. The writing is whimsical and clever, and the pictures are gorgeous. Although he's long since "guessed" which animals are next, he still likes to pretend to guess every time we read. The original book showed enough wear and tear from toddler reading that we just got another one, this time in hard cover. But the paperback will still come in handy--as our one-year-old takes up reading....
