I think this book is really clever, but I was expecting more pictures of the decorations, food, maybe even some recipe step-by-step photos. It has some really fresh ideas, and I like all the options it gives for every "tea" party theme. I was just hoping for more photographic detail. I'll admit I'm the type of person who likes a cookbook with a picture for every dish, I want to know what dishes are expected to look like when finished. Overall it was a good buy, and again it does have some very new ideas that I personally would never have thought of. However, I think I would make more use of it if it had more pictures to inspire me.

Well, actually my niece loves it. Like most little girls, she LOVES tea parties. Every month, her grandmother buys the props for a tea party based on a chapter in this book. My niece looks forward to those tea parties all month. If you've got a little girl, they will almost certainly enjoy this book.

I bought one copy of this book for one granddaughter. Then bought one for myself because it was so charming. The book includes various Tea Themes, including Fiesta Tea, African Tea, Underwater Tea. Each theme has suggestions for decorations, dancing, and recipes. I'd recommend this book to anyone interested in creating a child's tea party.

I love this book so much I bought two copies. I first found it in the library and some of the recipes are fun and delicious for adults as well.

Racist stereotypical desserts for little girls to make…."China dolls" using green tea ice cream balls and hair made from lengths of black licorice with "slanted" eyes small pieces of black licorice….Appalling ideas throughout the book for depiction of ethnic "doll" desserts. My money was refunded. I was told I could keep the book but I do not want it. Returned it. Very disappointed in Chronicle Books, the publisher, and in the author's lack of understanding of racial issues in this day and age of 2015.

A great book for ideas to be used for entertaining girls. Actually for a range of ages. A delightful book and should be a part of your library for girls having a tea party - many clever ideas. The illustrations and pictures are also well done.
I actually bought this book for my pre-school granddaughter, but I suspect my daughter will be even more pleased with it. It's a challenge for Moms of dedicated Princesses, to change up party themes over the years without the same old Disney favorites (adorable, yes, but no surprises there...).

This book brings a global scope to our girls, with detailed instructions for refreshments, activities and costumes/props for 8 different princess-themed parties from a U.S. cowgirl to China to Africa to Fairyland and others.

I like my granddaughter learning a bit about other countries and their customs. Her Mom will like the creative ideas to make terrific parties. But my granddaughter will like the FUN-FUN-FUN !
