I love that Kay Hooper never fails to enthrall me in her books. The mysteries also keep me hooked and she is one of the few mystery writers that I don't figure out the ending before the ending.

The thought, though slightly unnerving, wasn’t enough to stop Amanda. She went on, following the path that led through the woods toward the west.
The thought, though slightly unnerving, wasn’t enough to stop Amanda. It meandered, going left around one tree and right around another, past azalea bushes no longer in bloom and honeysuckle thickets that smelled sweet. One bend in the path nearly wrapped itself around a huge granite boulder before straightening out to climb a rocky slope. Just a restful evening stroll to cool off. It was certainly cooler in the woods, but.
Kay Hooper is a New York Times bestselling American author of more than 60 books. Kay Hooper was born in 1958 in California. Her father, an Air Force employee, was stationed in an Air Force base hospital and the family lived there at the base. Shortly after Kay was born, the family moved back to North Carolina where Kay was raised and went to school. Kay is single and still lives in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, close to her family
Others have claimed to be Amanda Daulton, but now a beautiful, self-assured. Kay Hooper weaves a tale of intrigue and a Southern family's hostility that pulls you in. Interestingly, I wasn't even sure whether the heroine of the story, who claims she's Amanda Daulton, actually was Amanda Daulton until about two-thirds of the way through the story. I thought it was clever the way Ms. Hooper kept me guessing about Amanda's true identity. My criticisms of the book would be that the necessary "proofs" that indicated Amanda was, in fact, the Amanda, were a little silly.
Kay Hooper is the award-winning author of Blood Dreams, Sleeping with Fear, Hunting Fear, Chill of Fear, Touching Evil, Whisper of Evil, Sense of Evil, Once a Thief, Always a Thief, the Shadows trilogy, and other novels. She lives in North Carolina, where she is at work on her next book. Библиографические данные.
