I love Emilie Loring's books, and am on my way to having them all.

Don't read too many in a row, though, because she does recycle plots. But clean romance and adventure is always available.
Captain America
This is a great Emilie Loring book - full of mystery and intrigue.

I've read and own all of Emilie Loring's books. My mother started reading them when she was younger and she also owns all of them. I even have a few first edition hard covers! That should tell you I am slightly biased, but I love, love, love these books. I will say they aren't my normal reading, I prefer paranormal stuff these days with action and adventure, even some fantasy books thrown in there. I got a craving for a hero with morals of steel and a heroine who is "practically perfect in every way." (that quote is from Mary Poppins in case you missed it).

I have my favorites amongst the Emilie Loring books. I know I have read this, but it wasn't coming back to me as I read it.

Wendy Adair is coming home from South America where her father is working as a pediatrician. Her mother wanted a divorce and is now married to Josh Crandon. (This of course happened in a time when divorce was rare and scandalous). She is living with her mother and her mother's husband in Washington, D.C. She has some important papers that need to make it to a V.I.P. in the Washington circuit. She happens upon Vance Trent who is a congressman. He helps her out of a jam, but she ends up putting them both in hot water by proclaiming they got married. Someone is following her, and Vance has an ex-lady friend who wants him back. The drama never ends!

Another hit for me. As are all of her books
