Edgar rice burroughs. In the very instant that I realized that something was amiss, a score of men surrounded and overpowered me before I could draw and defend myself. A voice cautioned me to silence. They spoke in dismal, hollow monotone, expressionless, sepulchral. They had thrown me face down upon the pavement and trussed my wrists behind my back.

John Carter of Mars is the eleventh and final book in the Barsoom series by American writer Edgar Rice Burroughs. It is not a novel, but rather a collection of two John Carter of Mars stories. The first story was originally published in 1940 by Whitman as a Better Little Book entitled John Carter of Mars.

Skeleton Men of Jupiter. Author: Edgar Burroughs.

Skeleton Men of Jupiter, was first published in Amazing Stories in 1943. Intended as the first in a series of novelettes to be later collected in book form, in the fashion of Llana of Gathol, it ends with the plot unresolved, and the intended sequels were never written. From the astounding AMAZING STORIES of John Carter, Skeleton Men of Jupiter is Edgar Rice Burroughs's last. His imagination welcomes the reader to a captivating space story. It is riddled with humorous intonations and creatures that resemble humanoid frames firmly covered with translucent skin. Burroughs manages to twist his wit into explaining how the star Carter, is able to endure on planet Jupiter. The story gets the best of your imagination as Carter works to fight off the creatures armed only with a sword. The Morgors have a hard time struggling to contain him. This story will leave you yarning for more since it ends with a cliffhanger. It is however one of the imaginative best stories.

One can never go wrong with E.R.B. but this story would have been much better if the series had been finished. As it is, the reader is left hanging in the unfinished tale.
I think any one who enjoys Burroughs John Carter of Mats novels will enjoy this fast paced, little known addition to the series.
Not the best in the series but still a lot of high adventure and fun.
Exciting adventure of john carter on Jupitor. Only ERB could have done such a great read. Recommend to any ERB fan or anyone who enjoys action.
This book is not an original title, they have just changed it to make you think it's a new story in the series.
Just as I was getting into this adventure it just ends. Guess I have to find part two. Overall it's an enjoyable addition to the John Carter series that I don't believe I've read before.
very happy
