However as soon as Chopra started to go into detailed histories of Kings and Religious stories it got so confusing! There were hardly any dates and nothing was very clear. I was excited when I first picked it up by the amount of pictures in the book. Some are great and relevant like news articles and floor plans but there are others that are less so and just make it confusing to which bit of the book the picture is relevant too. It would also benefit from the inclusion of maps and timelines. Don’t get me wrong its an okay book with a lot of relevant information but its good to remember this is just one authors view on things and I know some Indians that disregard the book.

This is an excellent book for delving into many aspects of Indian culture and history without going into too much detail. I found it very helpful in getting a basic understanding of the Hindu religion, as well as a glimpse of Jainism and Sikhism.
