William Wordsworth Love Poems. William Wordsworth (7 April 1770 – 23 April 1850) was a major English Romantic poet who, with Samuel Taylor Coleridge, helped to launch the Romantic Age in English literature with the 1798 joint publication Lyrical Ballads. Wordsworth's magnum opus is generally considered to be The Prelude, a poem of his early years which the poet revised and expanded a number of times. The work was posthumously titled and published, prior to which it was generally known as the poem "to Coleridge"

Here are 10 of his most famous works from Tintern Abbey (1798) to The Prelude (1850). Although he recognizes the worth of love and joy, he is now not sure whether blindly trusting them can guide man to all good. He realizes that duty, though stern, is also graceful and divinely beautiful and hence he is willing to serve it more strictly. Excerpt:- Stern Daughter of the Voice of God! O Duty! if that name thou love. Who art a light to guide, a rod. To check the erring, and reprove
