This novel, on the other hand, sucked me in for 140 pages before I could tear myself away to do some work at work. The author excels at Showing what is happening via a first-person narrator who is anything but omniscient, and reminded me how much such a viewpoint must rely on telling us what the narrator feels, emotionally and physically, to engage us in this alter-ego.
