Handbook of medical entomology Paperback – 31 Aug 2012. This is a good book if for you if you are planning on entering an entomology (zoology undergraduates, veterinarians, et. focusing on preventative medicine. by William Albert Riley (Author), O A. 1870-1961 Johannsen (Author). It covers a variety of species (to include non-arthropods) and their ill-effects on humans. Because it was written in 1915, it doesn't have practical knowledge for remedial actions and some of the information is obsolete. The one real draw back this book has is that there are no pictures.

Not very interesting or helpful in e-book form, I like to read dictionaries and encyclopedias for fun and this did not cut it.

This is a good book if for you if you are planning on entering an entomology (zoology undergraduates, veterinarians, etc.) focusing on preventative medicine. It covers a variety of species (to include non-arthropods) and their ill-effects on humans. Because it was written in 1915, it doesn't have practical knowledge for remedial actions and some of the information is obsolete. The one real draw back this book has is that there are no pictures. It often refers to figures, but they don't exist. If you are interested in the entomology field, I'd download this book, not only because its free, but because this book covers such a variety of species that effect the human race.
