The Prince and Betty book. The version of The Prince and Betty that I was reading was a compilation of two British stories Wodehouse had written (Psmith, Journalist being the other one) for an American audience. Its an earlier version of Psmith in the City. But with different characters. Some of the scenes are nearly identical to those in PSmith in the city

Though Wodehouse is funny, there are some racist references in the book.

If you are easily offended keep away.

But if you are prepared to make allowances knowing that this book was written in a different age ,you may well enjoy the book

The Prince and the Betty is a novel written early in Wodehouse' career. There are two versions of this novel, one for the Americans and one for the British. The version meant for the British publishers is funnier and better plotted than the American one. As long time fan of Wodehouse, I enjoy this novel. Newcomers to Wodehouse may want to be with the Jeeves novels or those stories set in Blanding's. I do recommend reading the The Prince and the Betty; the comic villains are best part of the novel.

I'm a Wodehouse fan from way back and I thought I'd read them all but the prince and Betty slipped through the cracks. Thank goodness for Kindle search!

Love Wodehouse!!! How can you go wrong with a rich step dad, upset daughter ,and confused crown Prince :-)

Well written as with all Wodehouse books, especially the way he captures the NY Bronx accent, but it's really two stories and neither works that well. It's not expensive to buy, though, and if you like Wodehouse, it's OK.
