Hunting the Haunting book. The story was beautifully written by author Joann Reneé Muszynski, and I found it absorbing and compelling from the beginning. For Sarah, life has become quite complicated. I especially thought some of Ms. Muszynski’s descriptions of otherworldly spirits and circumstances were quite nicely put into words. The pace of the story kept me intrigued from the beginning. This is a great read for young adults on up; I personally can’t wait to read what this promising author cooks up next!.

Hunting the Haunting has been on my to-read list since it was published, and I decided that right before Halloween would be the perfect time to read it. How right I was; this delightful book captured my attention and imagination from the beginning.

The story begins as Sarah stands in an old graveyard with a group of ghost-hunting buddies who called themselves the Specters. Not only is Sarah not an official member of the group, she isn't a believer, either. Ah, how quickly things change!

After some photographs are developed from Sarah's first outing, a photo and some eerie happenings convince Sarah that not only do ghosts exist, but one is reaching out to her -- a young woman named Emily who was murdered decades before Sarah was born. Sarah is soon absorbed by Emily's death and by other spirits who have agendas of their own.

In no time, it is Sarah who is the biggest believer of all, as her ghost-hunting friends get way more than they bargained for and become uneasy with Sarah's fierce determination to unravel the mystery of Emily.

This book is more than a chilling ghost story, it is about the bond between two young women across the span of time and boundaries of death. I enjoyed it very much. This talented author is a force to be reckoned with. Can't wait to read the next one. Gwyn Duffy, screenwriterHunting the Haunting
