This is book 17 of 19 in the series. I am currently reading book 14 so have not started this book yet. The series follows the old testament of the Bible filling in with fiction stories where the Bible skips or does not provide details of what actually happened. Most of the material in the books is fairly accurate for the time period and offer explanations for events and things that happened that could explain how some "miracles" really occurred. There is sexual content and a great deal of violence but I believe that may be accurate for the time period. I think the books are very interesting and offer explanations of events during that time that are plausible.

Purchased this for my wife. I like the epic 'series' that some have done (the Kent Family Chronicles remains a favorite), and got my wife hooked on them with this one. It's Bible-based, which added to her reading pleasure.
Great job!
I really enjoyed this story it is more than i expected, I am saving the book to read again
This entire series is fantastic. I have saved them to read again. Hopefully I'll be able to align them with the Bible better than I did the first time. I just need to slow down my reading next time. I practically gobbled them down. Makes the Bible come alive.
whole series is excellent have enjoyed each one and will reread all next year. must have done a ton of research on this series.
This whole series is excellent. For light, enjoyable, classic, historical fiction, read the entire Children of the Lion series.
Danielson has a real knack for taking stories from the Old Testament and weaving them into the history of the time. The books are like potato chips - you can't eat just one.
