Passion and lust brings them together, what they don't expect is to fall in love. Jake Grant is a sexy personal trainer not looking for anyone after his long-time partner passes away. He's ready to throw away his dreams by selling the gym just to get away from the ghost of his past. But once he meets Lance everything changes. Lance Abbott is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializing in sports medicine and is completely in the closet. He is convinced that if his clients found out he was gay they would all leave his practice and he would have to abandon the work he loves. When he meets Jake, a man who is totally out, all of Lance’s perceptions about being “out” are challenged. Passions and lust drive Lance and Jake together. But they soon find out their relationship is deeper than the physical heat between them. Can what they have last without anyone finding out? Or should Lance give up his insecurities and embrace Jake fully?

Sara York lives in the southern United States and writes constantly – the number of volumes increases practically by the month. Her genre: romance of all types and in this early novel she opens some windows to gay life – with a special examination of the men of the personal trainers and physicians – and closeted ones at that.

One aspect of Sara’s writing that has added significantly to the success of her writing career is her ability to mold credible characters, characters with strong points, flaws, men able to deal with their sexuality easily and those who have difficulty opening the closet door.
For example she elects to start he M/M romance with the following: ‘Jake Grant dropped the eighty-pound weight to the floor, hid his face in his hands and cried. The gym was closed, had been for hours and that was the only reason he let the tears flow. Six months had passed since Mark had been killed. The insurance company had settled early, and the money sat in an account he didn’t want to think about. The huge Victorian house they had bought together in downtown New Bern and refinished had sold last month. All that was left for him in North Carolina was the gym. It pained him to admit that the gym was the one thing he had always loved more than Mark. Even though Jake loved the gym and wouldn’t want to part with it for anything in the world, every corner of the place held memories of his lover.’

Sara shares the story with a brief summary – ‘Passion and lust brings them together, what they don't expect is to fall in love. He's ready to throw away his dreams by selling the gym just to get away from the ghost of his past. But once he meets Lance everything changes. A very well written and satisfying story, and yes, there is plenty of fine steamy erotica – as always in Sara York’s books. Grady Harp, August 16

Jake and Lance's journey to their HEA in Working It Out was sweet and hot with lots of feels. I thought Sara handled the issue of Jakes grief really well. It is never a linear process and we see that in his reaction to a possible new relationship in the form of hot doctor Lance. Lance being closeted when they met also meant that he didn't try to rush Jake into a relationship making him the perfect friend to boyfriend for Jake. My only criticism is that it came to an abrupt end. I would have like to know more about Lance's colleagues and patients reactions, what happened at the family life celebration, a what the heck happened to Trixie and her accomplice. It is a sign of a great book that you don't want it to end, however, and this shouldn't put readers off. I'm hoping there's a follow up book coming soon that will answer all my questions!!

What a heartbreaking, heartwarming, beautiful romance between two very lonely men. Jake is heartbroken over the death of his partner of thirteen years. His death was sudden and unexpected. Lance, is a wonderful doctor who accidentally on purpose bumps into Jake. His problem, he is so far in the closet, he can't find the door. This is a story of how these two vulnerable men, find in each other the strength to do what they need to do. I really enjoyed the intensity of the story, even though it was written in such a short story. Sara York knows how to make a story come to life. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!

This is a sweet story of two men finding loving when neither expected it. It is heartwarming. There are a few interesting twists along the way that had me at the edge of my chair wondering what the characters would do. They fell in love quickly, but fought it the entire way, which only made them more realistic. The sex was plentiful as well, which is never a bad thing!! Great weekend read.

The author leads you on an emotional roller coaster ride building for the final drop. The passion and love built along the ride provides for a happy ending. The book Is more than a ride though as it makes you evaluate every emotion you have as an openly gay man. You can identify with Jake all all along the ride.

Working it Out is another wonderful story by Sara York . Jake and Lance all complex characters . Jake has baggage from dealing with his lost lover . Lance has built a duplex in his closeted life. Neither man was looking for love , but when it's right you can't run and you cannot . Looking forward to reading more from Miss York in the future .
I liked this story it was cute and the experience of coming out out was heart felt. Author is a great writer and hope next book is just as good if not better.
