This book focused on his father, Earl, and his grandfather, Charles. Because it’s a Hunter novel there’s a few twists and turns and small mysteries to solve but ultimately it’s about a group of cops under the Hot Springs DA that sets out to straight up make war on the city’s crime boss Owney Madden (who was a real person, along with many others that are mentioned or appear directly.
