Jack Higgins - The Violent Enemy. And this one for young Sean Patterson

Jack Higgins - The Violent Enemy. CHAPTER ONE. ON the crest of a tor where the moor lifted to meet the blue sky in a sharply defined edge, Vanbrugh paused to catch his breath, sat on a stone and took out an old briar pipe and a tobacco pouch. He was a tall, heavily built man in his middle forties, hair greying a little at the temples, shoulders solid with muscle under the old tweed jacket, and carried about him that indefinable quality that only twenty-five years as a policeman gives, a mixture of strength and authority and a shrewdness that was apparent.

When I have been disappointed in a book, I always go into my Kindle and bring up a Jack Higgins book. This book was a fast paced read, no extraneous fill just to add pages. His books have never done anything but give me enjoyment. Thanks Jack.

Jack Higgins is the best, my favorite writer! He makes his political intrigue books so readable you can't put them down!
I have 78 of his books!

What can I say, I have all of Jack Higgins' books. He doesn't write the long, scene-changing, so-called "well-developed", epics like other action adventure authors. But, it's nice to read a fast-paced story where you don't have to return to a previous chapter to figure out the current character.

Like other Higgins books, this book had my attention and it was hard for me to put it down. The sexual content was more innuendo rather that graphic explanation. I have read a number of Higgins books, and I would say he is my favorite author.

A Jack Higgins book that is about a former IRA member who is not Sean Dillon. This story holds your attention with a mixture of hair raising action and a tender love story. Enjoyed it immensely
one of his earlier books - not Sean Dillion
