I was going to write that Bird Watcher is an absolute must-read for all those who love to fly small planes, but I'm not a pilot and I had a wonderful time being immersed in a passion I've never experienced. What a hoot to be whisked around California -- from bird sanctuaries in the San Francisco Bay Area to the desert to the Central Coast -- on an intrigue that descends on two men the moment their co-owned airplane is stolen from the Palo Alto Airport. Author Marjorie Johnson does an excellent job conveying these men's love of flying and cool equipment during their do-it-yourself attempt to right a serious wrong the FBI are too thick-headed to handle.

Throw her heart

Excellent plotting, full of surprises, great characters, informative about a hobby not everyone knows about. And it's complex, will keep you engrossed all through. What more can you ask? The characters grab you, and all, major to minor, come to life with humor and realism. Haven't had such fun in a while. Hope to see a sequel!

Starts with a big bang/explosion and ends with a surprising twist. In between are the exploits of a foolhardy teacher / flying enthusiast looking for the person who stole his ariplane and turned it into a flying bomb. A really good read.
