Books in this series make fine supplements to textbooks for students taking college humanities courses. They're also good guides for museum-goers and art lovers. Each "Crash Course" book contains hundreds of photos and illustrations, most of them in color. This volume, with approximately 240 illustrations, is a historical survey of architectural achievements throughout history.
The book is, as the title indicates, a "concise" history. Very concise, and incredibly well written! The authors cover a lot of ground, and so few words are devoted to character development or the broader context of historical events that one might expect the book to read like an almanac. The product was as advertised. The book was in great condition and there were no markings in it. The book has proven helpful and offered valuable insight into the history of Italy, and it is a great preparation for my trip in 2013. One person found this helpful.
