Long-term planning for energy systems is often based on deterministic economic optimization and . GEOTHERM 2 is a project aiming at assessing the potential of deep geothermal energy in the energy future of Switzerland.
Long-term planning for energy systems is often based on deterministic economic optimization and forecasts of fuel prices. When fuel price evolution is underestimated, the consequence is a low penet ration of renewables and more efficient technologies in favour of fossil alternatives. In particular we are interested in the synergies between geothermal and other renewable resources, and in the development of methods to support strategic energy planning at urban and national level.
