number of questions for) each subject.

Of all the PE exams, more people take the civil than any other discipline. The eight-hour, open-book, multiple-choice exam is given every April and October. The exam format is breadth-and-depth - all examinees are tested on the breadth of civil engineering in the morning session; in the afternoon, they select one of five specialties to be tested on in-depth.

Описание: Comprehensive Civil PE Exam Coverage The "Civil Engineering Reference Manual "is the most comprehensive textbook for the NCEES Civil PE exam.

The Most Trusted Reference for the Civil PE Exam is also the Most Up-To-Date. This is THE comprehensive book for the morning session of the PE. An additional more focused book for your afternoon session might be beneficial. I found the water resources section to be organized in a confusing manner.

The PE Civil exam is an 8-hour, open book exam. Use this reference manual to fully prepare for the exam, and bring it with you on exam-day for your must-have reference.

This comprehensive manual follows NCEES exam specifications and addresses complex topics by parsing them into condensed, understandable, readable sections. The PE Civil exam is an 8-hour, open book exam.

Michael R. The Most Realistic Practice for the Civil PE Exam Civil PE Practice Examination contains six 40-problem, multiple-choice exams consistent with the NCEES Civil PE exam’s format and specifications. The morning breadth exam covers a variety of civil engineering topics. The five afternoon depth exams (construction; geotechnical; structural; transportation; and water resources and environmental) prepare you for the depth exam of your choice and provide additional practice for the morning exam subjects.

Save Time on the Exam by Quickly Locating Equations, Figures, and Tables

Time is of the essence on the Civil PE exam, and the Quick Reference for the Civil Engineering PE Exam minimizes your problem-solving time by putting the information you need most at your fingertips.

This powerful, time-saving tool consolidates the most useful equations, figures, and tables from the Civil Engineering Reference Manual for the PE Exam into one place, without the distraction of descriptive text. Many exam problems can be solved using the Quick Reference alone or in conjunction with NCEES-adopted codes and standards. As the Quick Reference corresponds with the twelfth edition of the Reference Manual, it reflects the exam’s reliance on NCEES-adopted codes and standards. Both are also fully indexed and use the same equation, table, and figure numbers, so you can find explanations of concepts quickly and easily. Since 1975 more than 2 million people preparing for their engineering, surveying, architecture, LEED®, interior design, and landscape architecture exams have entrusted their exam preparation to PPI. For more information, visit us at www.ppi2pass.com.

I didn't really use the book as much as I could have during the exam itself. It tends to be much easier and quicker to use one main reference book for the morning portion than bounce around through multiple books. Having said that, this book does a pretty decent job of summarizing the CERM but leaves some equations out, so if you use this book as your primary reference during the exam I would still bring the CERM as backup. With either book, practice heavily and mark up your reference materials as much as possible to help find information quickly.
I bought this book to reduce my effort of making equation sheets for the PE exam. While I believe it has a good amount of material in it note the following before you decide to buy:

-The book picks and chooses which equations to include from the CERM13, not all equations listed on in this book. There have been some times I have written things in on the side bars because I believe I will need another equation during the exam.

-The book uses the equations from the CERM13. This is not usually problematic, however I find that sometimes the derivations of the equations are not explained well enough in the CERM13 (and definitely not in this quick reference guide). For example, the Hazen-William equation in the Water Resources section is derived for a specific common case: full flow in a circular pipe. I'm not a Water Resources person, but all my books from college have the more generic equation which I wrote down in the side notes. I've noticed they've done that with a few sections where I have to go back to my college book to see how they have derived a specific equation so I don't misuse it.

-Lastly, there are no charts included in this guide, ie, none of the appendices in the CERM13 are in this book. They do have some of the charts that are listed in the text sprinkled in here and there, but if you are looking for a book with the appendix information only then this is not the book for you.

All in all, this book gives me a reason to not have to create an equation sheet, however I feel like I have to really look through the stuff I want to use to make sure it is there. I don't know if I'd pay $60 for it again though, feels more like a $40 book to me. But that's what you get with PPI material....
This reference manual is a must-have for any civil engineer planning to take the PE exam I was successful at passing the exam using this book solely as my reference
Уou ll never walk alone
This edition is not much different from previous books. There is 1 page that is different.
I guess some people would find this book useful, but I had already tabbed up the big book and had my other formulas I needed in my notes. I just never found a reason to use it.
I would recommend this book for anyone taking the PE exam as it provides a quicker reference to commonly used equations. Almost like a table of contents for the CERM.
completely full of marks, notes, hand writing, it is a mess, I can not use it.there is not any blank space without pen markings and notes.
Great resource but missing formulas from the CERM
