A fairly good book. It could use a little more technical detail. It may work best for you probably as a second book. Book is pricy considering the amount of content. In the edition I received there are numerous printing flaws, missing portions of text, etc..

This book covers a good amount of background theory as well as practical examples. I would recommend to anyone involved with infrared detector characterization or calibration. Examples given lead you to accurate prediction of your system that you already have or something that you are currently designing on. Good balance of theory and practical knowledge.
