I had to buy this book because it is the required textbook in my class. I bought it here in Amazon because it is cheaper here than in my school's bookstore. Although it is cheaper in Amazon, the book still costs 150+, which is still very expensive for a student like me.

Anyways, If I only knew before what I knew now, I could have saved my self $150+! The content of this book is almost very similar to the Smith and Roberson's business law book. I happen to get an older version in a trift store for $25 and while scanning through the book, I realized that the two books are almost the same! The wordings and the case files tackled are almost the same. I hardly even used this brand new book at all.

Recommended?
If it is really really required in your class and you have money to spare, then go for it. But if not and you dont have much money to spend on text books, I would recommend that you look around at other USED business law text books like the older versions of Smith and Roberson.

This was advertised as "like new," and its far from that. The book has written notes all over it (like every 15pages & its about a 600 pages book). Some of the writing is pencil, which is ok I guess. I just erase as I go. But a good amount is in pen which is a pain & will make it difficult to resell. The seller was book_holders, all that said, it was still a decent price & much less than the school book store.

As for the book content, its really good and written in a very interesting way. Everything is broken down into laments terms which I appreciate, its a good supplement to my instructors lecture. HOWEVER, if you are reading this book on its own in an attempt to understand contract law...forget about it. This book is 600 pages of supplemental/refresher material. It gives you a basic concept with an example or two, but leaves out A LOT of information that with give you the full grasp of the complete concept. A majority of the writing is case studies (which are sometimes helpful, except the author does not give you a full explanation as to why the case was decided on way or the other), there are also chapter discussion questions but unless I'm missing something the answers aren't included so again if you're reading this on your own, I don't know how helpful they will be. There is a glossary of terms in the back of the book, as well as an index but I've found that [...] is a better resource because most of the terms or ideas that are mentioned and I had questions about are surprisingly not covered in detail other chapters so naturally they aren't in the glossary or index.

Again, this is great supplemental material to an in-class lecture or as a refresher, however this book cannot stand on its own to give you a solid structure for understanding business law. And I'm not positive, but i don't think it's designed to do so.

The binding broke the first day I opened the book up and the problem has only gotten worse after each use. The quality of this product is extremely poor and this has happened to EVERY person in my class. It is a lose-lose situation. You need the book for your class, therefore buy it used from the cheapest source or buy it electronically. If you rent it or buy it new, you are only throwing your money down the drain, because unless they change the manufacturer, this book will not be able to be sold in good condition or returned. On a positive note, the material presented in the book is very detailed and a great source of information. The Case Problems and Taking Sides sections help a student relate the information presented in the chapters to real life examples.

Funny duck

When I received the book for my summer class, the book was completely separated from the cover. While the rest of the book was in workable condition, as a rental, its concerning that the book wasn't in better condition to return at the completion of my course because of its poor original condition. All in all it did the trick, but I wouldn't recommend buying a less than acceptable product from here.

The book I received was in three pieces: the hard cover, about 1/7 of the book, then the rest of the book. It cannot even sit on my shelf correctly or be placed in my backpack without becoming a huge mess. I can hardly use this book because it just falls apart every time I touch it. I attempted to glue it back together but there was no hope.

The book was fine and it good shape. I thought that it should have come a day earlier that it did, but other than that there are no complaints.

As soon as I picked up the book it literally fell apart. The entire text portion fell out of the binding and random pages flew everywhere. I'll be extremely angry if I have to pay for the damages that already happened before me. In addition to that, there's no place for me to report it.
