`There`s a strong possibility that this will become one of the most used books on the educator`s bookshelf, and that`s all to the good because ultimately it will be the students who benefit.` – Pat Wolfe Translating vast amounts of research into a teacher-friendly, practical guide to brain-compatible instruction, the authors have taken what is known about how the brain learns, combined it with the best of what is known about teaching, and generated the ultimate brain-compatible teaching kit. This valuable tool covers it all–cognitive research, pedagogical theory, theories of intelligence, cooperative group learning, collaborative skills, thinking skills, graphic organizers, and assessments–in an easy-to-digest format that explains what the key concepts are, why they are important, how they are relevant, and how they can be used. Complete with blackline masters and a list of resources, this is the most thorough guide to brain-compatible learning.

This book investigates various instructional strategies which are based on recent brain research and suggest various ways of helping students. I found the book to be well organized, making it a great resource to keep handy when planning lessons. I use this book when I am designing lesson plans, and find that the book makes it easy for me to address the various components of brain compatible learning. As a teacher in my 5th year, this book still provides a number of important resources and elements that makes my planning much more efficient and thoughtful.
my wife purchased this book because it was required by the grad class she is taking. she tells me it is a great book!
This book explores instructional strategies which are based on recent brain research. Clear explanations of instructional tools (and how, when and why to use them) is this book's stength. The book is well organized, making it a great resource to teachers. I use this book when I am designing lesson plans for the week ahead as the book encourages me to use a variety of instructional strategies and provides guidance in their implementation.
This book is pretty useful for teachers. I was required to buy it for a college class I took this summer. I learned some things about brain-based research I never knew before. It has lots of different activities that would be useful to review as a teacher. It's worth a read, in my opinion. It's worth checking out.
