Alive 7: The Final Evolution. As you probably noticed, the Alive series is not written by them, just illustrated by them. I fully expected the writing to be completely different (it was), but what surprised me was that Adachitoka's art during this earlier series was more generic and not as skillfully drawn. They must have cut their teeth on this series.

He has two close friends, Hirose and Megumi. Hirose has trouble with bullies, but Taisuke is always there to defend him, even though he just winds up getting beaten instead of Hirose. During class one day, Taisuke is hit by something unworldly and for that split second, he sees a vision of the universe. As he's walking home from school, he sees a girl fall and die in front of him, but his first thought is jealousy. Alive - The Final Evolution Chapter Navigation

Start by marking Alive: The Final Evolution, Volume 2 as Want to Read: Want to Read savin. ant to Read. Tadashi Kawashima has created a dark story of intrigue and mystery in Alive. I found that I liked the second book a lot more than the first as I understood more about what was going on. The artwork by Adachitoka is great and I loved the way that he drew Ryou. Her eyes are fantastic. I do like that these characters do not have the humungous eyes like a lot of the Japanese manga characters have.

Come here to discuss the Manga Alive- The Final Evolution. Written by: Kawashima Tadashi Adachitoka Drawn by: Adachitoka. The first chapter Why Should I read this?? I find this Manga to be pretty darn amazing for a number of reasons. Probablly one of the first and foremost is it's plot which while confusing at times is very satisfying and pretty realistic.

Carrot
It had some good and interesting concepts, but it just was a really emo-kids with powers story that I've read a lot before, and the writing and art weren't anything to pick back up once you've laid it down for a while. :(
Hilarious Kangaroo
I've read a lot of really good manga as well as a lot of mediocre manga as well as lots of stuff in between. I thought that this rated on the high side, although it didn't do as well as Ares (not yet released in U.S. yet), ID the Greatest Fusion Fantasy (also not released in U.S.) or Shin Angyo Onshi. The story is original, which is always a plus. For those of you who have ever read a manga written as fight scene - power up - fight scene - power up, this isn't it.
It starts a little bit slow, but once you get sucked in you can't help but wonder what's going to happen. That's why I'm sitting here waiting for the next volume...
