Han Sae lee is tall, dark, and handsome and up until today he had an older lover he was simply crazy about. That is, until he gets dragged to her surprise wedding to his brother no less. Angry is probably too polite to express how he felt, and it is no surprise he ran out in the middle of the service. Taking the train home, his expression catches the eye of a blond brat who decides this guy needs messing with. Being pick pocketed so brazenly doesn't make Han Sae feel any better, but running after this kid and then beating the crap out of the crowd of people he guesses are the boy's associates does vent his anger somewhat. That irritation just won't go away though as the blond brat, who calls himself Moto, simply refuses to leave Han Sae alone. Like a stray cat, he keeps wandering into Han Sae's life, even down to moving into his apartment uninvited. It's obvious he can't simply get rid of Moto that easily, but just why exactly is Moto so intent on attaching himself to Han Sae, and who are these men that come looking for him?

DramaQueen bring us a brand new title with their recent return to the publishing world (meaning this is getting to see the light of day now, so Amazon should be getting copies soon!). This time it is Lee Young Hee's manwha, The Summit. Manwha is the Korean version of manga, and it has its own subtle yet distinct set of visual styles and feel. In addition, unlike manga, it is read left to right just as with Western books, making it somewhat easier to newcomers to the Asian graphic novel world. The Summit is no exception, and what we get is a deliberately comedic foray into the pathos ridden world of Korean drama mores. This is the first volume, and so there is more comedy than pathos, but one can see it coming from the introduced subplots and promises to provide a meaty feast in the future. Not this is a lightweight work by any means, as the serious undertones and mature situations provide more than a little angst ridden darkness, lit only by the carefree levity of the irrepressible Moto.

The art work is well laid out and the details well considered. The eyes of Hee's characters are especially beautiful and expressive, while their clothing is realistic in nature and wonderfully draped. From the full colour inserts at the front to the smallest filler panel, the eye is drawn along as if to a table laid out with a feast. Once again DramaQueen present us with a presentation to match, from the new pseudo-dust jacket style cover, to the full colour glossy inserts, the fine, smooth acid free paper, and accompanying full colour art card. It screams out quality with an ecstatic voice, promising a sensory experience like no other while reading this book.

This volume is rated 16+, so suitable for older teens, and does contain mild sexual situations and light violence. It's a gentle foray into the Boy's Love genre that leaves one looking forward to the next instalment. I'd also like to thank DramaQueen for providing me with a review copy.
