These episodes of the new mutants take me back to a time when true creativity was apparent in those artworks. Just like the good old times!

Good book, but a lot wasn't included in the story.

this is an awesome series and this particular book is no different, a great read, great artwork, it is an awesome book

While the title says book two, I remind readers this is NOT the original run of the New Mutants. The group has graduated from Xavier's and are now dealing with (spoiler alert) Doug who has returned from the dead and not himself.

Amazon.com seems to have incorrectly described this collection. New Mutants: Fall of the New Mutants collects issues 15-21 and is 168 pages long.
This hardcover collects the final two arcs written by Zeb Wells; Fall of the New Mutants and Rise of the New Mutants. In the first, we see a shady militaristic group, the same ones who escaped Limbo early in the series, trying to bring Doc Noc's ultimate plain to fruition. It should be noted that both arcs take place largely in Limbo, and draw from storylines from X-Men: Inferno and X-Infernus. We see a lot of action in this arc, as well as some more "team" moments. Including a kiss between two New Mutants!
The second arc wraps up the first arc, as we see them recovering from the Purgatory debacle. There is a truly tear wrenching moment in the end between Illyana and Peter. Wells leaves New Mutants on a high note. Leonard Kirk's art really works well. Limbo is depicted perfectly. And character expressions covey emotions very well. I would recommend this for New Mutant fans. For newcomers, I suggest New Mutants Vol. 1: Return of Legion.

The comics collected in “New Mutants: Necrosha” are important to the development of the team, with the return of a long dead member and some interesting insights on another. Most of these comics are done by Zeb Wells who is a solid writer and is able to balance exciting plots with character development. But this book is simply not for new readers and with the resurgence of zombies--in books, in video games, in movies, in television shows, and in various comic guises from “Marvel Zombies” to “Black Lanterns”--yet another tale featuring the dead returning to life and trying to kill people is a bit much. The book simply doesn’t flow since five different artists take the lead. The last comic in this collection, written by Kieron Gellen with art by Niko Henrichon, seems out of place and simply doesn’t gel with the other comics in the book. New Mutants fans will enjoy this book to be sure but, to be candid, it simply won’t appeal to readers outside that group.

Zeb Wells offers an interesting, near epic, tale in "Fall of the New Mutants." This story takes the New Mutants into Limbo as Magik takes center stage. There are some strong battle scenes and interesting character development but newcomers will find this book tough going. While an engaging story, this book is too connected to the rest of the X-Men universe to really stand on its own. There are simply too many threads in motion for anyone who is not familiar with the greater picture. The art team led by Leonard Kirk does a strong, often haunting, job. Recommended to comics fans but readers should have a solid background here.
I love when a writer can bring up an old idea, no matter how old, that might have been dropped or forgotten and tie it to a current storyline. Most times its strictly nostalgia that makes me like those stories but here Zeb Wells does an amazing job of plucking something from the past and hammering you with it in the present. While stories involving Limbo usually don't offer anything new, this was not the case here. I really enjoyed Wells' plot and his dialogue really fits each individual character. The art by Leonard Kirk was solid. Overall, this was a fun collection that could be enjoyed by new readers and loved but old time X-Men fans!
