Once again Paul Levitz proves that he truly is "The Master" where the Legion is concerned. This expanded retelling & revamped origin of one of DC's greatest teams is a welcome return to Legion excellence. It leaves you wanting more and wishing for a return of the Legion regularly with its full cast and truly Universal Galaxy spanning adventure.

Art is too flashy, loses in story. Story itself was good idea, but some of the dialog, could have used a lot more help. I expected better from this author.

While I think that DC is a little obsessive about the sequence of the events that led to the origin of the Legion of Super Heroes, I found this particular take on the subject quite interesting.

nice product with a solid feel and good color and texture. The art is different than older "tellings" of the origins.

I've been a Legion fan since WAY back. My favorite era is when Jim Shooter and Dave Cockrum were doing the book (hey DC, how about putting those on Kindle?). But this is a fine retelling of the early years and the forming of the Legion. Well worth reading and the artwork is beautiful.
Levitz knows his Legion, of course he spent many years on it up to 1989. Highly recommended for the classic Legion fan.
