This was the perfect ending to the Wynnewood Trilogy. I would recommend all three books. They could be read as stand alone, but it would take away from them, especially the 2nd and 3rd. Ms. Havig created wonderful characters and a fascinating, fanciful story. A little fantasy, a little mystery, an insight to an interesting time in history, and tops it off with how God can work in lives through His people by their words and their deeds. These books are somewhat different than the other books I have read from Ms. Havig, but I have yet to read any of her writing that I haven't enjoyed immensely. As always these books are clean, Christian books!

In Beneath the Cloak, the conclusion to the Annals of Wynnewood, Philip leaves to seek his education, but doesn't find what he expected. Meanwhile someone mysterious is looking for Dove. I enjoyed the ending of the book and series. I have read other series and have not been satisfied with the conclusion. This would be a good read for anyone 9 years old and up.

From the Mom: I appreciate this book because it is fantasy book, which my children like, but it has no sorcery or magic in it. There are Christian themes throughout the book that only add to the story and are not a distraction. I would recommend it to others and we have bought the series to give as gifts. Susan - Mom

Beneath the Cloak is the final book of the Annals of Wynnewood trilogy. It sees Philip off to Oxford for his education and dealing with loneliness and doubts. Meanwhile, his friends cope with his absence as best they can. When Philip is kidnapped, the Maete help Dove to rescue him. Dove learns to overcome her fears, discovers her past and learns to trust. Many characters in the story learn to accept people in spite of their differences and demonstrate personal and spiritual growth. Two separate epilogues to satisfy all of us.

I love how the author wove all three of these stories together. I found myself barely able to put this last book down. A trilogy I hope to share with my own children when they are old enough to read them!

My children and I really enjoyed this series as a family read aloud.

Like the story! I was disappointed there wasn't a wrap up to a few of the characters storylines. I will probably reread next time I get bored.
I really enjoyed this series of stories. The unusual writing style of Christina Havig is amazing. I couldn't put down my kindle fire to even sleep. I wish there were 10 stars possible for rating this series would have earned it.
