So, one year I bought four of her books - this was one of them, her newest at the time. Keeping a Princess Heart in a Not-So-Fairy-Tale World sounds good, I thought

So, one year I bought four of her books - this was one of them, her newest at the time. Keeping a Princess Heart in a Not-So-Fairy-Tale World sounds good, I thought. Unfortunately, it's less of a how-to and more of a feel-good book. I suppose my main hang-up is that most loaded word: princess. What, exactly, is meant by princess? In this day and age, it might mean anything from being a girly girl to a prima donna

Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. Every little girl grew up hearing the stories of "happily ever after," but is that the world in which she exists today?

Living in this not-so-fairy-tale world, you are torn between everything you longed for and everything you live with. You wonder how your heart will survive, because what you have isn't even close to what you hoped for. Hang on! Real hope is found in the tension between the two-in an invisible kingdom. This place is where you discover the true heart of a princess-one full of dreams, wonder, delight, and joy. And you learn to keep it alive, even in the midst of this crazy, disappointed, hard-to-understand world.

"I am a Princess". The words every little girl and woman longs to believe. Hardships and heartache may try to kill that desire, but it is restored and set right by the One True Prince. Authoress does a wonderful job as both reality and happily ever after are explored. Heavenly love is placed in foremost order amd celebrated. earthly love is placed in proper heart order and not scorned. My head is spinning. May have to read this a few times to get it all in. So needed in this world. Read it. Just do it. You won't regret it.

I did not want to read it because I grew up having a distaste for fairytales. The very title caused me to feel negative. It was not what I expected at all. Nicole actually addressed why I was feeling that way. What she flushes out in this booked has changed my life. Her perspectives have helped me understand why the desire to feel adored can become so askewd. This is one of many heart level and deeply spiritual insights she address like no other. I am a counselor, and I will now use this book in my practice. It would be great for a small intimiate group of women to read together. I understand there is a guide for that I have not seen.

Wow! I am compelled to write this just to raise the overall star rating to what the author deserves. Being 53 and recently divorced, after a 32 year marriage, I have been very interested in what went wrong. I've read lots of books on relationships, divorce and healing over the past 2 years and this one has helped me to better understand how women (many of you), and perhaps my former wife, see themselves and their situations. That the author ends up pointing to Jesus as the ultimate prince, does the most to authenticate this work. The author does for women, here, what John Eldredge does for men in his book "Wild at Heart". What great encouragement for women! I would say that the first two reviewers suffer from the very hardness-of-heart that the author touches on in this book and their very response here does all the more to validate the author's insights with regard to womens' hearts in general.

Amazing book for every woman of any age. I have purchased this book for my mother, sister, and many of my friends. Its a great guide to bringing you back to your center and knowing where your heart lies. It builds self esteem and helps to create a stronger more confident self image.

This book really touched me. It was a required reading for an event I am attending and I have to admit I was apprehensive about it. I have always considered myself to be found on the opposite end of the spectrum of what I considered a stereotypical princess to be. I was pleasantly surprised with the content of this book--not at all what I expected! The writing had depth and truth. Who ever would have thought?! I Am a Princess after all!! And my Prince Is Always with me!! Woohoo!!

For anyone who has forgotten or never been told what being a "princess" is REALLY about. I laughed and I cried. Will be reading this one again for sure.
This book was required reading during prep for a retreat event, and it was wonderful reading.
