Great bible translation. To those who claim the King James is the ONLY bible you should use, is this fact. It is not THE Bible, but just a translation, as are all the rest. I use the 1599 Geneva quite often and find a few places where the King James completely perverts the Geneva, which preceded it. So my point is; THIS is a great translation and you should try it! The references are very good and the print is easy to read! A good idea for aging eyes such as mine. This has become my "go to" Bible for most study and reading! It is just that good!

I've had this Bible for two weeks now and for a Bible at this moderate price point, it has exceeded my expectations! I was a bit leery of the "LeatherTouch" cover, but in use I found it had close to the feel of leather with the durability of synthetic material. The cover does not feel "plastic-y" at all, just good quality. Likewise, I am impressed with the paper and binding; both have a quality feel and more importantly "print through" is not an issue. I don't find it difficult to read while holding the Bible by hand; it is very flexible yet the pages stay flat enough edge to edge. Regarding the "giant print" it is indeed large (14 point), a feature which is critical to me. The page layout is very efficient with text to within a quarter inch all around, but not to worry the printed quality is consistently excellent so there are no misaligned pages in the entire Bible. Finally, the main reason I purchased this Bible is the HCSB translation which I think strikes a perfect balance between accuracy and readability. My one criticism of this HCSB Reference Bible is that the cross reference system has much less detail than other Bibles; cross references are by paragraph rather than verse, and there are far fewer of them compared to other Bibles I have used. But, since I bought the HCSB for reading rather than study that is not a large drawback for me. For in depth Bible study I will return to my NASB with its highly detailed and helpful cross reference system.

This is a high quality Bible. The print is large, but the Bible is a size you can easily carry. The words of Jesus are in red, which some people may not like. However, if you are really interested in just what Jesus said, as recorded in the Bible, I think this is a useful feature. The quality of the binding and the paper is excellent. This is not as popular as other translations, but, rest assured, it is a careful and accurate one.

There are very few Bibles with large or giant print that are a reasonable size to carry with you and at a reasonable price. The gold on the edges of the pages is a very nice feature, but it is not the shiny gold that expensive bibles have. You have to really look and make sure what print size you are really getting. There is a New King James Version, the Nelson Center Column reference Bible, (not a study Bible), this Holman CSB Bible which also has references (references to related texts), and a thick, a functionally bound NIV (NIV Large-Print Softcover Bible) and others, I am sure. But they are not always easy to find.

This Bible really does have large print.

I used SHARPIE ACCENT GEL HIGHLIGHTERS and they did not bleed through the pages. This speaks well for the quality of the paper in this Bible as well as those particular markers.

As a pastor I have every translation available but find the Holman to be the best combination of accuracy and readability. I like that I don't have to wear my glasses when reading it. I like that it uses God's name where the original text does rather than just 'Lord'. I just wish it used Jesus' real name, Yeshua also. Did you know the name Jesus didn't even come about until the 17th century?! A Jewish messiah certainly ought to have a Jewish name rather than one that has gone from Hebrew to Greek to Latin to English! Anyway, you will not be disappointed with this Bible. I am ordering a second to keep as a back up if something happens to my other one!

I would say that all that I said about the HCSB Large Print Ultrathin Reference Bible is true of this one except that the print for me was almost too large. I think that it has a 14 point font size. If you have a hard time reading average print bibles, this is the one for you. It, as well, is Smyth sewn ( sewn rather than just glued binding) and the bible cover is a very nice full grain (at least it looks like it is) leather that is smooth and somewhat supple. I gave it four stars only because for me the print size was over the top. It might be just the ticket if you are looking for an HCSB full size bible that allows limited sight folks an easy read.
