I really enjoyed this study on Bad Girls of the Bible that my small group did. I ordered this workbook in addition to the book because I find I process and remember things better when I have to actually write about it. There were lots of great questions and Scriptures to look up in there, and it also would have worked well as a supplemental aid for a discussion leader as well (if the questions in the back of the actual book were not enough for your group). All in all, this workbook satisfied what I wanted - making me slow down to process information.

I gave it 3 stars because of a few improvements I would like to see:
1. Missing Parts Questions from Main Book: The first few pages of this workbook claim that "The questions provided at the end of each chapter of the main book are included - and greatly expanded and improved - in this workbook." It is true that MOST of the main book questions and corresponding Scripture references were included, but definitely NOT all. This was annoying since I was the only one in my Bible study using the workbook - I would get to small group only to discover despite answering four times as many questions as everyone else, I actually hadn't answered everything from the main book. They should either add in these question parts or add a qualifier to their claim. Of course, this won't really affect you if you are doing this study on your own or everyone in your group uses this workbook.

2. Numbering: I appreciated that this workbook gave me space to answer questions (vs. in the back of the main book where there is no space to answer questions). However, the questions are numbered differently compared to their parallels in the main book, partly because they interspersed between additional questions. I wish they would have put them in the same order or added a note/asterisk with the number from the main book. Though again, this probably only annoyed me since I was the only one using the workbook in my small group. I was constantly flipping around and comparing question parts when the discussion leader that night went through the main book questions.

3. Formatting: The size and binding of the workbook was like that of a paperback book, so my hand was almost always bumping into the spine of the book while I was writing my responses. I think it's easier to write in a larger workbook style book, like the ones for Kelly Minter and Priscilla Shirer studies.

4. Minor issue (maybe because of multiple editions of the book?): Sometimes the pages references to the main book were off by a page or two - but only sometimes.

The study guide companion to Liz Curtis HIggs' 'Bad Girls of The Bible' is well a composed blend of scriptural study and life application. The reader is invited to 'connected the dots' by providing biblical background for each of the subjects, leading up to the reader drawing her own conclusion as to 'what does that mean in my life right now'.
The chapter divisions allow for weekly studies with a reasonable amount of 'homework' for today's busy woman. Small group leaders may even want to consider allowing 2 weeks for each chapter as the subject matter is sure to bring up discussion amongst the participants. Over all a very delightful, insightful, and applicable study.

Our Women's Study group has been using this very delightful and insightful book for the last month and we are delighted with Higgs' fresh approach to these "bad girls" whom we often overlook. To a person, we have laughed, cried, been shocked and amazed, and most importantly, been enlightened as we have studied. We are probably going to do the sequel, "Really Bad Girls" when we finish this one!

The questions in the Work Book are great for discussion! They apply to us/me and really make one think deeply about some of them. The writer is great! She's even funny sometimes. I find that the questions at he end of the chapter are mostly redundant to the questions in the Work Book, although first reading them in the chapter, we gave them quite a bit of attention. When we got to the same ones in the Work Book, we just said that we'd already talked about that.

God's Grace & Mercy is available to whosoever will accept it. Great study for women who are aware of their past mistakes and are seeking a do-over. To see what type of women are recorded in the Bible who were either foolish or notorious, yet given the opportunity to do life over is a real eye-opener. I am currently using the study with this workbook with women who are incarcerated. It helps them to understand how wrong thinking got them where they were, what is the correct mode of thinking, God has not turned His back on them, and they still have a purpose to fulfill in life. The workbook has the kind of questions that provides soul searching and new tools to move forward.

There seems to be a big difference in the time frame books are received. I've found that some sellers email and state they have your order, another email stating they shipped your order. About 25% of the time I receive books on the last day of the expected arrival date if not a day or two later. I have those booksellers marked and do not do business with them now. I track those sellers who actually mail when they say they do. I've been in the shipping business and know how media mail ranks, it shouldn't take the full time frame allowed. I sell books on amazon. When I get an order, I package and go to the post office on that day or the following day. My books have always arrived fast. I will continue to use this seller because of my experience with delivery and communication. THANKS!

I had to force myself to put the book down and save some of the reading for later. Every woman that I recommended the book too, also said the same thing. The book speaks to each of use where we live. In that place where we do not like to visit. Where we go to ask ourselves why we do some of the things that we know are going to bring us pain. In this book we find out that we are not the first nor will we be the last. Read It. The workbook made the book better to read.
Wow! It is a great learning book. Enjoyed and laughed and cried and had a really good time with this book
