In the depth of every being lies the inherent heart-impulse to be completely and utterly Free. In this book, you will be introduced to the life and teaching of Adi Da Samraj, who not only speaks to this impulse, but who is that freedom, communicating itself to you in every possible way, through his person, his teaching and his art. To find him is to find the very heart of Reality tangibly known by you, at heart, as the deepest truth of existence. This is the great mystery that you are invited to discover.

When Adi Da Samraj was born, in New York in 1939, he was completely aware of his Divine condition. He existed only as this radiant state, full of Love-Bliss, and named it the "Bright". Around the age of two years, in a spontaneous gesture of love toward those around him, he relinquished the enjoyment of the "Bright" and identified with the self-contracted state of ordinary beings. This initiated an unprecedented ordeal of relentless investigation into the Nature of Reality. In this book, Carolyn Lee tells the remarkable story of Adi Da's life and work.

"Even as a baby, I remember only crawling around inquisitively with a boundless Feeling of Joy, Light, and Freedom in the middle of my head that was bathed in Energy moving unobstructed in a Circle down from above, all the way down, then up, all the way up, and around again, and always Shining from my heart.

It was an Expanding Sphere of Joy from the heart. And I was a Radiant Form, the Source of Energy, Love-Bliss, and Light in the midst of a world that is entirely Energy, Love-Bliss, and Light. I was the Power of Reality, a direct Enjoyment and Communication of the One Reality. I was the Heart Itself, Who Lightens the mind and all things.

I was the same as every one and every thing, except it became clear that others were apparently unaware of the "Thing " Itself.

Even as a little child, I recognized It and Knew It, and my life was not a matter of anything else. That Awareness, that Conscious Enjoyment, that Self-Existing and Self-Radiant Space of Infinitely and inherently Free Being, that Shine of inherent Joy Standing in the heart and Expanding from the heart, is the "Bright".

And It is the entire Source of True Humor. It is Reality. It is not separate from anything".

Adi Da Samraj

Throughout human history, in many of the biggest religions as well as the smallest, people have prayed for and prophesied a final, all-completing Spiritual Teacher. Going by different names in different spiritual traditions, and with different mythologies attached, this One was said to be the capstone of the great edifice of human spirituality. In this book, author Carolyn Lee makes the case for Avatar Adi Da Samraj being that very One. This is obviously a controversial claim. I recommend withholding your judgement until you have read the entire book. Regardless of how you may judge the claim, you cannot fail to be affected by the remarkable life of Adi Da and the profundity of His Message.

The Avatar Of What Is, The Divine Life And Work Of His Divine Presence Avatar Adi Da Samraj is a wonderful and very accessible introduction to the life, work and enlightenment of this truly great spiritual master.
In the chapter, The Movement To Teach, Adi Da Samraj states, "You have to awaken to a present understanding of the real factors of existence, on the basis of which you can re-associate with the Living Divine Reality in ultimate terms. When you do that, then you can discriminate between that awakened disposition and all of the accretions of "religious " lore present in the mass of "religious" cultures. You could also, by coming to this understanding and awakening, transcend the dogmas of your own time, which are not particularly Spiritual in nature. They are secular, represented by the "point of view" of scientific materialism. Your relationship to the Spiritual Master - your relationship to Me - is a link to the Adept tradition throughout all of history. Thus, your awakened understanding enables you not only to relate to the Divine, the Living Present Divine, but to discriminate among all of the teachings, "religious" and Spiritual "points of view", and conventional (or secular) "points of view" in the present time and in every historical epoch that you may study."
This beautiful work, by Carolyn Lee, describes the means whereby we can cut through the dogmas, dictum, and distractions of the current epoch and how to discriminate among all of the traditional teachings, infinite points of view, and "false" facts and find Reality and Truth in the life and being of an enlightened spiritual master,
If you are interested in growing your spirituality this book is a very good place to begin.

This small booklet, written by a long-time devotee of Adi Da Samraj, is a remarkable biography of the spiritual master from his early childhood, through his early years and young adulthood at a Lutheran seminary, his full Divine realization and beginning of his ashram and teaching in the 70's in Los Angeles, and his work with devotees at his hermitage in Fiji, until he left his physical body in 2008. It is filled with selected quotations and personal stories about his work from close devotees. No study of spirituality and divine masters is complete without a thorough understanding of the history of Adi Da. This book is a wonderful way to start, before moving on to his autobiography, The Knee of Listening.
