I'm an avid Beat Generation reader, so instead of going to like, the beautiful Rockies for a vacation, when we went to Colorado, I had to stop in Denver. It was because Laramie street is located in Denver, and Jack Kerouac wrote about traveling on Laramie street.

With this book,I seriously am thinking about knocking out all the Beat Generation hubs in Missouri and Kansas in a weekend. When I go through to San Fransisco, this book will be in my front seat. I intend to visit every location in this book that I possible can, and am very excited to have this information available. Mr. Morgan's book even has the addresses, which might have an office building, or grocery store, instead of the original building. I'm more excited about seeing where Jack Kerouac wrote this, or Neal Cassady wrote that, than where Zsa Zsa Gabor lives in Hollywood, who cares? Now I can go to the exact location that Allen Ginsberg wrote "Howl." And I believe I will.

I also bought the San Fransisco book, of the same title. Very excited about that one.

If you want to follow in the footsteps of The Beats, this book will help. The one on San Francisco has greater detail about that city than what is in this book though. A nice easy read that can help provide a few spots to check out wherever you are traveling in the United States. Obviously, some states such as Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, and California have more places, but I think all 50 states are included.

This was a present for my sister on her birthday...She asked me weeks in advance, before it was even available. Shipped quickly and she LOVES it. Im not particularly interested in The Beat Generation stuff, but I flipped through the book and it has tons of interesting info. If you or someone you know is a fan and/or a traveler, this is definitely an item you will want in your possesion.
