Green, Melody; Hazard, David.

Keith Green was a man of ideals in a world of compromise and his music still stirs millions around the world. The book follows the life and story of Keith Green, early Christian pop musician who went from drugged-out mystic to radical Christian and then to nationally-known musician. After his death in a tragic plane crash, Melody was left alone and pregnant and in charge of Keith's musical legacy. The book is an easy and enjoyable read, full of pictures to help those of us who never knew Keith Green's work (such as myself). The writing quickly draws the reader in to the story.

No Compromise is the second album release by contemporary Christian music pianist and singer Keith Green, released in 1978. The album's title derives from "Make My Life a Prayer to You", which begins: "Make my life a prayer to You, I wanna do what You want me to, No empty words and no white lies, no token prayers, no compromise.

I never realized how much I could appreciate a brothers zeal for the Lord as I do for Keith. I am 53 yrs. old and remember the day he died with his children on that plane crash in July of 1982. I could not believe what I was hearing on the radio..."Keith Green has died today in a plane crash in Texas..." This book is his life story, lovingly and wonderfully written by his wife Melody. She takes you from his birth, to his struggling artist days, to his Christian days that had many struggles as well and then finally to that fateful day in July of "82". I enjoyed listening to his music back then and even now he still ministers to me in many of his songs. I recently ordered the "Keith Green: The Ministry Years 1977-1979" cd and I love it. It even has Bob Dylan playing his harmonica in one of the songs as this book also testifies to. God bless you Kieth...you will always be remembered with a smile and thanked for convincing us to do more for the Lord as is our duty.

My mom & dad are around Keith Green's age and Keith's son, Josiah, would be almost exactly my age so why does this book speak to me so greatly? Because it was so real. Told with great detail and without making Keith out to be larger than life, this book portrays a man who had a great need, met a great Savior named Jesus Christ, and lived his life with great passion for Him. It inspires me to live a holier life through the grace of God, to remember that even in my weakness God's grace can make my life beautiful, and to live for my time in eternity not for only this earth. I've loved Keith's music for over 10 years now but now I understand the man behind the music a little better and it only makes me love the music more, because he gave God all the glory. Thank you Melody for writing this book and carrying on the legacy you and Keith began in Christ together. I'm very grateful!

Keith's life was amazing. He lived for Jesus Christ and the importance of the Word of God. He and his wife wanted everyone to know Jesus. He shared his life and his belief with everyone he came in touch with. We need more people like he and his wife. This was my second time reading this book and his music is great as well. He died so young and he is sorely missed by those who knew him and heard his records and read this book. I am looking forward to seeing him some day. This book was hard to put down. It's a good read.

I sat through reading the entire book and I met Keith Green in the words of this book. Keith lived as a man that would not compromise. I watched some videos and he was so in love with God. He was a modern day Prophet. I cried at the end of the book for his wife and kids. I cried for Keith. I do know,He is in the great cloud of witness. His life is a witness to me I feel so much in tune and I pray I will be as bold as Keith and I pray his music and message will continue to speak to future generations. I feel for Melody, everyday she has to take up the cross. She is awesome. May the Green family be blessed.

Straightforward and humble honesty characterize the foundation of Keith's life, and is inspiring and confrontive to live the same way before our holy LORD Jesus today. Keith still speaks from the pages of this account of his life of 'no compromise', and stands out as a light in a darkening world. I love this story, for it is true and it is Truth!

I originally read this book in paperback about 30 years ago as a new Christian. It radically changed my life back then and caused me to re-evaluate my walk with Jesus.

Written as a personal testimony by Keith's wife Melody, the first hand accounts of Keith's struggles and victories help us relate to our own personal battles to follow Jesus more closely.

I am re reading this book again on my iPad Mini along with my wife. We are finding this book to be timeless and relevant to everything in our life. I have again been challenged to give more of myself to Jesus and seek to make Him know in to others, with greater fervency.

If you are a seeker of truth and want to know whether Jesus is a viable option for you, this book will allow you to see what it is like to be a genuine follower. It is brutally honest and truthfully delightful. Most of us still wonder why Keith went home so early. We all miss him and the incredible example that he set for us. His music and his words are as relevant today as they were three decades ago.
