I'm brand new to the world of photography. I've bought a point and shoot digital HP PW 460T camera, monopod, and head, extra batteries, memory cards, and a bunch of other stuff that goes with this equipment!

This is my second book relating to photography. The first book is on editing. This book is all about digital photography and how to use your camera to get great pictures. This author, David Pogue is an award winning author and has written books on many subjects and this book is a very good book in my opinion. I'm also taking a online micro free photography tutorials with free tips and tricks. This is where this book comes into it's own. I've also bought a dvd on the introduction to photography.

Being a newbie, I wanted to learn as much as possible to be able to use the equipment in the true manner in which it was meant to be used. This book will certainly help me get there! I should point out that this book is used and it shipped from my own home town! Thanks, Randy

Pogue covers all the aspects of taking excellent pictures, improving them, saving them on your computer, and sharing them . He constantly comes up with tips to make everything about digital photography more fun and efficient. Writing with a sense of humor makes the book very readable and the pictures makes it easy to see just what he means. This is a very interesting, comprehensive read and highly recommended. I'd read it before buying a new camera.

Excellent book. Just what I need to hone my skills. I have purchased many of t he Missing Manual Series by David Pogue and have always been pleased. Each one is very comprehensive with an excellent index to help you find the areas you are most interested in.

Pogue's book is exactly what I've been looking for. I am a technologically perplexed middle aged man who never understood the digital lingo. Never had a problem taking good film pics, but now I do. And this book explains so much that I had been wondering about (histograms, RAW vs. JPEG, ISO, the list is quite long) so extremely well that I understand it. I haven't yet had an opportunity to put this new knowledge to the test to see whether I get better pics, but I can't imagine that it won't have some positive effect. Highly recommended.

LOVE David Pogue's help books and electronic device reviews. I learned more about how to use my iPhone than I ever did from the brief/vague description user manual that came with the iPhone. Thank You. Thank you.

This little missing manual is really user friendly.
a little humor here and there makes it easy to read.
It is written for the beginner to intermediate level of digital
camera user.
I bought a digital camera when I retired and have been taking classes on how to take better pictures. Have also purchased many "how to books," this is the best one in my collection. It gives me step by step guidelines of how to use settings and take quality pictures.
