I really enjoyed this book. Very easy book for beginner musicians and so much fun. The arraignments in the book are very basic, but they have to be, since you are playing the pieces on a toy. As a beginning guitarist, I was a bit annoyed that the guitar part was in tableteure format, but as I used it in lessons I began to enjoy it. It goes beautifully with the Melodica, and it is easy to play if you also play piano. I like the songs, and the arrangements are good. From daughter Marie). From beginners to advanced players the melodica is a fun little instrument.

NIce short arrangements of some of the most popular classical songs ever for the advanced beginner/intermediate player. There are a few barr chords here and there but most progressions are built on basic chords like Dm, A, C, G with some nifty little finger shiftings to add6, etc that you might useful in composing or adding interest to other musical pieces. These pieces are short, nothing over 2 pages, not so daunting as the full 4 to 6 page versions of most of these songs in advanced books. They sound nice and can be mastered in a relatively short time with regular daily practice. I only gave it four stars because of the barr chords in a so called "easy" book and because some of the songs are a little weird for guitar, who does 1812 Overture or Blue Danube on guitar? Still it has a lot of greats like Pachelbels Canon in D and Spring from Four Seasons, Fur Elise, Gleensleeves, A little night music - which is actually kind of cool on guitar. Well worth the price, I've played from this almost daily for the last month, which is not the case for most of the 30 some other guitar music books I own.

I've been playing guitar for 8 days now and I can start to play some of the scores in this book to the point where they start to sound recognizable. Every piece is a timeless classic and it has been addictingly fun to try to learn them. The tablature and fingering indications also helps a lot. There is no instruction in the book, you will have to learn the basics of strumming somewhere else (I uesd youtube) but you don't need much to start working on the pieces in this book. All in all this is exactly what I was looking for when I bought this book.

At first, had difficulty printing the pieces and thought it was the fault of the kindle book, but having corrected the settings for my printer, I am totally satisfied with the pieces geared for my beginner's skills. The combination of notes and tablature make notereading easier to learn and the pieces seem to be the standard pieces every beginning classical guitarist should learn.

Love this book for teaching guitar. It's a great intro to actual songs rather than the tedious stuff you'd learn in other books.

I gave 4 stars for choice of music, the CD of the music that comes with it and the arrangements that I -- as a semi beginner can manage. Probably a better player would get bored quickly but for me, it is perfect.

A lot of these "easy" classical guitar books are easy if you're Andres Segovia, however this one truly is easy. "Just started playing last month" easy. The guitar parts usually consist of a bass line, which may have you playing something as simple as half notes and that's it, and a melody line on the other guitar which is also kept as simple as possible. Together these arrangements don't really add up to much, and the finished sound is "beginner level". There are lots of arrangements of these songs for a single guitar which encompass everything included in both parts here, plus a lot more.

The lack of a CD is bothersome as well. Although these are very well known songs and the melodies are instantly recognizable, trying to figure out what these few (simplified) bits here and there are by listening to far more complex arrangements can be a real pain.

If you're a beginner and want some fun stuff to play around with, some well-known melodies to play for family members, this would probably be a good choice. I just find it so over-simplified that even when played well, it doesn't sound like much.

Love this book. I've only been playing guitar for two months so having music that is easy to play and easily recognizable is perfect for me.
nice selection of titles with the exception of the 1812 Overture
